The College Board recently announced Advanced Placement awards, based upon last spring's AP exams and each student's cumulative record of exams taken.
Sixty-five Como students from the classes of 2009 and 2010 were honored. This is an impressive number!
Awards are based upon the following criteria:
AP Scholar: Students who earn a grade of 3 or higher on 3 or more exams
AP Scholar with Honor: Students who earn an average grade of 3.25 on all exams taken, and grades of 3 or above on at least 4 exams
AP Scholar with Distinction: Students who earn an average grade of 3.5 on all exams taken, and grades of 3 or above on 5 or more of these exams
AP National Scholar: Students who earn an average grade of 4 on all exams taken, and grades of 4 or higher on 8 or more exams
As many of you know, Como High School is home to (by far) the largest Advanced Placement program in the district.
Last May 246 Como students took a total of 547 AP exams.
For the first time in our school's history, we have 3 National scholars!
