| Como Park Cougars Boys' Soccer | | | | 2009 Como Park Varsity Team | The 2009 Como Park Cougars team will be remembered as one of the most dominant and talented groups in school history. The 2009 Cougars won the outright St. Paul City Conference Championship for the first time since 1992. They achieved that title in style by scoring 82 goals while only allowing 8, recording 13 shut-outs on their way to an overall record of 18 wins and 2 losses. Como Park earned the respect of teams and coaches all around the state as they broke into the Top 10 rankings and climbed to #2 in the Class A Polls by the end of the regular | | Cougars getting ready for kick-off | season. Unfortunately, the Cougars' dreams of the State Tournament were upset in a penalty kick shoot-out loss in the Section 4A Semi-Finals. Despite that heart-breaking ending, the 2009 Cougars season will always be remembered for the positive. The extremely talented, hard-working players and their unselfish teamwork led to accomplishments and memories that will last a lifetime.
Regardless of talent and results on the field, the Cougars will always take pride in being part of a first-class soccer program | | Cougars at the Farmhouse (Road Trip to Southern MN) | that respects the game with fair play and sportsmanship. By competing in high school soccer we trust our players will develop self-control, discipline and cooperation that will serve them well on the field during the season, and also help them become better people in the future. Soccer gives us the chance to maximize our gifts and talents. It also gives us the chance to cope with challenges and setbacks.
