 | | 2007 Como Park Varsity Team | The 2008 Soccer season promises to be an exciting one for all the Cougar teams. The Varsity had another winning season in 2007 achieving an 11-8-1 record, but the 2008 Varsity Team is working to achieve much more. The Cougars have their eyes set on competing for the Conference Championship, and making a deep playoff-run toward the State Tournament. The goals are set high, but Coach Erickson is hopeful that the leadership of Co-Captains Zac Van Cleve and Kedir Adam can guide seven returning letter-winners and some talented newcomers to success. All the returning players will bring back the experience | | Cougars at the Farmhouse | of knowing that every game can be decided on one great play or one mistake that can be the difference between winning and losing. The 2008 Cougars will work hard to be as prepared as possible for all the intense competition and situations we will see.
The Junior Varsity and C-Teams should be able to compete at high levels again in 2008 if they commit to hard work and preparation as well. The Junior Varsity won the Conference Championship in 2007, and will attempt to repeat that in 2008 with a combination of new players and the new Junior Varsity Coach, Jonah Fields, who successfully guided the C-Team previously. | | Como v. Stewartville | The 2008 C-Team (made up of 9th and 10th grade players) will be coached by former Como Park Captain and All-Conference selection Martin Xiong, who is a great addition to the program.
