Learner outcomes: The student will have the opportunity to

- Investigate textiles and apply to clothing care.

- Demonstrate appropriate use of equipment and safety procedures.

- Know and use technical vocabulary while interpreting charts and drawing found on the

    pattern.

- Demonstrate ability to read and interpret a set of graphics while completing a

  fabric construction project.                                   

Evaluation:

- daily work, unit, and final exam  - Make up work is due within one week for credit.

- completion of three projects: a pincushion, a piece of clothing to fit you, plus a third

   project of  your choice. - All work must be done in school unless assigned or approved by

   the teacher.

   60% to pass with a D     70%  C     80%  B     90%  A

- You will earn daily lab points:                  4= worked all class

                                                                        3= worked most of the class

                                                                        2 = worked half the class

                                                                        1 = worked a little

                                                                        0 = absent/didn’t’ work

- Clothing- Fashion- Fabrics- Construction  by Weber

- pen/pencil, notebook or paper 

- supplies to complete projects.  If you cannot afford supplies or the equipment fee talk to

  the techer privately.

Attendance and tardiness policy

- Attendance is important to earn daily grades. If you miss 14 days credit will be lost.

- Tardiness will result in detention.

Class rules

- Show appropriate behavior.

- You will receive three green hall passes. Use them wisely.

- Remain seated until dismissed.

- Keep your head up.

- Do hair and make up outside class.

- Respect school property and that of others.

- Food and beverages are not allowed.

- Follow directions of staff people

- Pay an equipment fee of $2 which will be refunded when the equipment is returned. You

   will receive a bobbin, tape measure, seam ripper, and hand needle.

- In general, pillows are not acceptable projects. Pillows are OK to keep busy and earn
