Volunteer Interest Survey

As research into secondary education has shown, your interest and willingness to help with your students' education is very important. Schools in which parents are involved have higher achievement scores and more peaceful learing environments. Your contribution matters greatly to the future of both your student and the nation.

Academic (Working with teachers - Includes 3R's, Languages, Industrial Arts, Science and Music)
Clerical (Includes Main office, Guidance office and Media Center/Library)
Tutoring throughout the school year, in your choice of varied or specific subjects.
Tutoring PRIOR to Basic Standards Tests (Writing: January 31, 2006; Mathematics: February 7, 2006; Reading: February 9, 2006)
Tutoring PRIOR to Basic Standards Tests in April (for seniors only)
Tutoring PRIOR to Metropolitan Comprehensive Assessments Tests in April (Reading for 10th grade, Math for 11th grade)
Hall Monitoring (any period of time from 7:30am to 2:00pm any day)
Technology (Provide assistance to staff in tech. dept., - webmaster, programming, etc.)
Orientation Day (Provide assistance to staff and a friendly face to newcomers at this event the week before school starts next year.
Winter Showcase (Provide assistance to staff & students as we all try to make our school as inviting as possible to potential new families.)
Athletic (Working with coaches, including asssitant coaching, transportation, equipment management and special events.)
Extra-curricular (Working with teachers who supervise various after school activities, including clubs (chess, math, debate, speech, etc.) and performance productions (drama, music, etc.) and one-time special events.
