Mr. Jeff Caulum

Welcome to Mr. Caulum's web page!

Courses Taught (depending on the year):
ELA 9, 10, 11, 12 with English Language Development

I've been a teacher in St. Paul Public Schools since 2001 and at Como Sr. High since 2008. I teach ELL (English Language Learner Education), and especially love working with newcomers! Their energy and enthusiasm is so wonderful to see. Our classes currently have students enrolled from a wonderfully diverse list: Burma, Thailand, Nepal, Afghanistan, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Puerto Rico, among others.

We are so lucky to have this amazing group of students!

I have lived and worked in several countries around the world, including 5 years in Japan, 1 year each in China, Guatemala, and Singapore.

I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Arts-Journalism, and also the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a Masters of Education in Second Languages and Cultures Education. I recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Trauma and Resiliency in Education from Concordia University, St. Paul.

I am a licensed teacher for K-12 ESL in the State of Minnesota.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me. Thanks for reading my page.
