Ms. Kristin Mathieu

The 2022-23 school year is my 20th year of teaching English and my sixth year teaching at Como Park Senior High School.  I currently teach English 9, English 9 Accelerated, and English 12.  Prior to joining the staff at Como Park Sr. High, I spent 14 years as an English teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools.

Before I became a teacher, I was a professional pastry chef.  I am a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, NY and I lived and worked in Munich, Germany. In addition, I spent 20 years as a member of the Wisconsin Air National Guard retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2016.

When I am not at school, I like to spend time with my family including my husband and 14 year old son. I enjoy yoga, working out, biking, shopping, reading, and traveling.  My family and I travel to Europe every two years and these are just some of the countries we have visited regularly: Germany, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, France, Italy, Belgium and the U.K.  It is our goal to retire to Eastern Europe one day.

I love the Como community, and look forward to getting to know and work with my students.  Teaching is definitely my bliss and teaching here in MN is a dream. I love it here!
