Christy McCoy MSW LICSW

Hello, my name is Christy McCoy MSW LICSW and I am one of the school social workers at Como Park Senior High School. I have been a School Social Worker for 20 years for St. Paul Public Schools but have worked in education for 27 years. In my role as a School Social Worker, I provide direct healing centered engagement/trauma informed counseling and support to students individually and in groups. I can also help students and families connect with culturally responsive resources, which includes connecting to mental health providers, community resources related to housing, food, clothing, medical needs etc. Finally, I can help families navigate county systems.

Fun fact - I have also been actively involved with the Minnesota School Social Work Association since 2002 serving in the following leadership roles:  Legislative Chair 2008-2013; President 2013-2015; Secretary 2016-2018; Legislative Chair 2015-present. I am also proud to have served as President of the School Social Work Association of America from 2021-2022.
