Ms. Sarah Smith

My name is Sarah Smith and I am so excited to be a part of this team of caring educators at Como Park Senior High School.  I have been teaching Social Studies for the past 17 years and am so grateful to be a part of this community at Como!  I look forward to working with your students and making learning meaningful and creative. I believe that history should be multicultural, diverse, inclusive and represent the people of our world.

I grew up in Minneapolis and am a graduate of Minneapolis Public Schools.  I received my Bachelor’s degree in Social and Global Studies from Antioch College and earned my Graduate degree in Social Studies Education from the University of Minnesota.

I became a teacher because I love working with students.  Each day I strive to be thoughtful, non-judgmental, honest, and caring.  I am really passionate about teaching and learning. I am here to be supportive and helpful to all students.

During the 2022-2023 school year, I am teaching World History, Human Geography and Street Law.

I enjoy reading, being outside, spending time with friends and family and volunteering for the community.
