Funds We Raise

What Happens with the Money we Raise

Have you ever asked yourself, what happens to the money the Como Park High School Booster Club raises throughout the school year?

Thanks to generous donations from CPHS familes, staff, friends, and local community organization and businesses during Give to the Max and the Como Fundraiser, the Booster Club is able to make grants to CPHS extracurricluar programs and support community buidling activities. The Booster Club also supports Homecoming, the Senior All Night Party, and more!


In 2017-2018

  • With Booster Club support, 100 students attended the Homecoming Football Game for free, cheering for Como’s win!
  • The Booster Club provided over $6350.00 in grants to Como High clubs, teams and extracurriculars - Congratulations!: BEASTBot (Robotics Club), Cougar Journal, Close Up Washington, D.C., MCJROTC, Student Council, Youth in Government, Technovation Apps Club, Pan African Student Council, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Choir, Instrumental Music, ELL Trip to Minneapolis Institute of Art, ELL field trip to Urban Roots Farm, Counseling Dept. College Visit trip.

In 2018-2019

  • The Booster Club, with the support of the CPHS Community, hosted a parade and pre-game activities and brought in Food Trucks to celebrate Como's first Homecoming on its Home Field!
  • With your support, the Booster Club made grant awards totaling over $6,000 to 18 CPHS Clubs, Teams and Extracurriculars for programs that expand access and travel opportunities, enhance learning, grow leadership, and encourage students to share their skills, athletic experience and artistic expressions with Como High and their community. Congratulations!: MCJROTC, ELL, Spanish classroom, Cougar Journal - Como's literary magazine, Technovation Apps Club, Close Up Washington, ELL - Easy English News, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Como Culture Show and Community Potluck, Como Park Senior DCD /ASD Program, Instrumental Music, Girls Basketball, Health Dept and Real Talk sub group of Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Choir, Como Girls Ultimate Frisbee, ELL - Urban Roots Field Trip, Boys Tennis, and Youth in Government.
     

In 2019-2020

  • The Booster Club sponsored CPHS's first Homecoming 5K and Fun Run and pre-game activities on Saturday, Oct. 5th before the Homecoming Game. An amazing group turned out to run and walk around Como Lake, braving the cold and rain, have fun and enjoy food from the Food Trucks before Como's Homecoming Football Game. The Booster Club sponsored the 5K and pre-game activities, with all funds going to support CPHS Athletics. Go Cougars!
  • Booster Club Grants to Extracurriculars - Fall 2019 The Como Park High School Booster Club congratulates the Fall 2019 Grant Awardees from Como Park High School's extracurricular clubs, teams, and programs: Black Student Union, Link Crew, English Language Arts, Table Tennis Club, Technovation Apps, Close Up Washington, Como Global Showcase, Youth in Government, Counseling Department, Cougar Journal, Como Park FFA. Booster Club grants are made with funding from Give to the Max donations and the Como Fundraiser -- thank you for supporting Como Park High School!
