SPPS Student Athletes Honored with Athena Awards

Congratulations to the Saint Paul Public Schools student athletes who were honored this week at the St. Paul Area Athena Awards. 

The St. Paul Area Athena Awards program honors outstanding female high school senior student-athletes from St. Paul and suburban public and independent high schools for their athletic achievements. The award is based on excellence in individual sports or for participation and accomplishments in team sports. 

Central High School - Delaney Nelson (soccer, basketball, lacrosse)

Como Park Senior High School - Ellery Tennison (volleyball, basketball, track & field)

Harding Senior High School - Kimberly Tobar (tennis, badminton, gymnastics, basketball)

Highland Park Senior High School - Kate Reubish (volleyball, hockey, softball)

Humboldt High School - Willa Campion (cross country, alpine skiing, track & field)

Johnson Senior High School - Kelly Joachin-Valdez (swimming, gymnastics, track & field)

Washington Technology Magnet School - Ariel Fang (badminton, volleyball, cross country)

Athena is the Goddess of Wisdom and Skills. She was brave and possessed the essence of all that is noble. Legend tells us that she possessed the gifts of dignity, power, and youth, making her invincible.
