Jacob Hanson
Hello! I am Jacob Hanson, and I am a science teacher here at Como Park. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Physics from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2020, and earned my Master's in Education in 2025.
Currently, I am also one of the coaches for Como's FRC Robotics team - Team 2855 BEASTBOT. We meet on Tuesdays in room 1416.
In my free time, I love playing the guitar, running, and suffering as I watch Minnesota Sports teams.
This year, I am teaching Integrated Science, Physics, and Astronomy.
Integrated Science is a year-long laboratory course where students focus on earth and space science. Students learn about biology, physics, and chemistry concepts through their relation to space systems, the history of the earth, earth systems, weather and climate, and human sustainability.
Physics is also a year-long class that will cover a wide range of topics, including motion, forces, energy and work, rotational motion, gravity, electricity and magnetism, and circuits. Students will develop their problem solving skills and ability to conduct labs.
Astronomy is an elective science course. Students will learn about the Space, the Solar System, the Universe and more. We will have lots of fun activities, including watching a few space-themed movies to evaluate how accurately they depict space.
If you ever need to talk, ask a question, or discuss anything, always feel free to send me an email! My emails are Jacob.Hanson@spps.org and Jacob.Hanson@stpaul.k12.mn.us.
