Graduation Information

Class of 2024 Graduation Information

Rehearsal is MANDATORY for all graduates on Wednesday, June 5th at 8 a.m. You do not need to bring your cap and gown.

Commencement Ceremony is on Wednesday, June 5th at 8 p.m. Students must report by 7:30 p.m.

Location: Roy Wilkins (175 W. Kellogg Blvd. St. Paul, MN 55102)

You will receive your honor cords, and tickets at Senior Night on May 28th at 6:30pm.  Every graduate will get 8 tickets. You will receive your cap and gown at the senior picnic on Friday, May 31 from 11-2 if you have turned in your iPad and charger, completed the senior survey, and are cleared for graduation.

The gowns are single-use gowns and you will be able to keep them.  When you receive your cap and gown there will be instructions for their care.  Hang them up on a hanger to assist with the removal of wrinkles.  Do not add any decorations to the cap or gown.  Honors cords may be worn on the outside of the gown.  Any caps with decorations on them will be confiscated prior to the ceremony.  Your tassel should be worn on the left side.  This is a dignified ceremony.  Please be respectful of your classmates and Como Park Senior High.  Remember to take all pictures before you arrive at Roy Wilkins or after the ceremony.

Approved graduation adornments are allowed as part of the graduation ceremony.  Graduates may wear an adornment that meet qualifications:
- Adornments may be worn around the neck or attached to one’s graduation gown.
- Total length: 64 inches or less
- Width: 7 inches or less
- No reflective materials, such as sequins or glitter.
- No offensive messaging as defined in the dress code section of the Rights and Responsibilities Handbook including: items that pose a health or safety hazard, obscene, sexually explicit, discriminatory, racist, sexist, or otherwise derogatory, displays or references to alcohol, tobacco, or other products that are illegal for use by minors.
- No references to gang affiliations, firearms, or violence.
- No oversized words; each character cannot be larger than 1.5 inches tall or wide.
- Scented items are not allowed, so as not to cause a distraction or imposition for other graduation participants, including those with allergies or sensitivities. Artificial flowers should be used instead of real flowers.
- Items that threaten the dignity of the ceremony will not be approved. The school’s approver(s) has discretion to determine whether or not an item meets this requirement.
- Personal identity adornments of the graduation cap will not be allowed, including tassels or decorating the mortarboard. This procedure does not limit wearing cap adornments that are sponsored or organized by the district or school.
